The Athletic has shared what Marcelo Bielsa told his closest friends right after Leeds United sacked him.
Bielsa led the Whites back into the Premier League after winning the Championship by 10 clear points in 2020.
The Argentine was a fan favourite at Elland Road and enjoyed a brilliant first season back in England’s top flight the following year.
But their second season in the Premier League didn’t go so well and after four straight defeats that left the Whites just two points above the relegation zone, Bielsa was sacked back in February.
Of course, Leeds replaced the 67-year-old with Jesse Marsch and narrowly avoided the drop last season. But it seems that Bielsa could be in line for a possible return to the Premier League.

What Bielsa told friends after Leeds sacked him
The Athletic reported last week that Bournemouth hold a strong interest in luring Bielsa to the Vitality Stadium.
Now, the outlet claims that in the weeks after his sacking, the former Leeds boss told people close to him that he would be open to working in the UK once again.
Bielsa also told his close friends that he was absolutely set on returning to management.

It would be brilliant to see the Argentine coach back in England. His Leeds side were one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league during his spell in charge.
Bielsa still had the backing of the Leeds faithful right before his sacking after the brilliant job he did at Elland Road.
Bournemouth will certainly have to convince Bielsa that it’s the right move for him but it seems that he’s eager to manage in the Premier League once again.
If the Cherries manage to get their man, Bielsa would face off against his old side in April at the Vitality Stadium.
