Marcelo Bielsa has privately claimed that Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has the right attributes for a Champions League side, according to a report from The Athletic.
This season could be a huge one for Forshaw. As noted by The Athletic, his contract at Elland Road expires at the end of the campaign.

He is also not far off going two years without making a competitive appearance for the Whites.
Forshaw has endured a torrid time with injury. And just when it appeared that there was light at the end of the tunnel towards the end of last season, the optimism was cruelly snatched away once again.
He featured for the under-23s in their crucial win against Aston Villa. It was the result that sealed the title for Mark Jackson’s men.

However, it also proved to be a step too far for Forshaw on that occasion.
Obviously it would have been a huge blow for the 29-year-old. But fans have now been given an idea of how much of a disappointment it would have been for Bielsa, too.
According to The Athletic, Bielsa has privately claimed that Forshaw has the right attributes to play for a Champions League side.
Huge boost for Leeds if Adam Forshaw can enjoy some good luck with injury amid Bielsa claim
Leeds fans will not be getting carried away. But the Whites have been given a reason for encouragement this week.
Forshaw came off the bench to play in the pre-season friendly against Guiseley on Tuesday.
It remains to be seen how he came through the game. And Leeds will be incredibly wary of taking any chances.
But if he is able to play a role this season, it could be a huge boost for Bielsa’s men.
Forshaw was playing arguably the best football of his Elland Road spell at the start of the 2019/20 campaign.
Leeds’s squad has obviously improved since then. So if Bielsa believes he has the ability to play Champions League football, it could be massive for Leeds to have a fully fit Forshaw back once again.
