Miguel Delaney’s Reading The Game newsletter has revealed what Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta thinks of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s comments about him.

Just a few days ago, a video of Aubameyang having a real go at the Arsenal manager surfaced on social media.

The Spaniard and the now-Chelsea striker had a huge fall out last season. Arteta decided he just didn’t want Aubameyang in his team anymore, and the Gabon star was forced out of the club as a result.

The 33-year-old clearly wasn’t pleased with Arteta’s decision.

In the video that surfaced online recently, Aubameyang is heard saying, as quoted by The Daily Mail: “To manage big characters or big players, he (Arteta) can’t deal with it.

“He (Arteta) needs some young players, they don’t say anything, they listen.”

Aubameyang immediately clarified on Twitter that he made those comments a day after he signed for Barcelona – when he still had ‘a lot of bad feelings’ about Arsenal and Arteta. He seems to have moved on now and wished everyone at the Emirates well.

What does Arteta and Arsenal think of the whole situation? Miguel Delaney has the answer.

In his latest Reading The Game newsletter for The Independent, the journalist revealed that there were ‘scoffs’ within Arsenal after Aubameyang’s comments went viral on social media.

However, Arteta, the man those comments were aimed at, reportedly “doesn’t even consider them worth thinking about.”

Arteta was at the end of immense criticism after he pushed Aubameyang out of Arsenal. The Gunners had to rely on Alexandre Lacazette to deliver goals, and the Frenchman really struggled.

Arsenal then blew their chances of finishing in the top four at the end of last season, and that gave rise to more criticism for Arteta as some believed Aubameyang would’ve fired the Gunners into the Champions League.

However, looking back at it now, Arteta definitely made the right decision.

Arsenal are a much stronger side now and are on top of the Premier League table at the moment. There seems to be a real unity at the club, and if they can keep this going, they could go on to achieve something really special this season.
