Report: Antonio Conte will hold one-on-one meeting with 29-year-old Tottenham player at Hotspur Way soon

A report from The Daily Mail has revealed that Antonio Conte is planning to hold a one-to-one meeting with Harry Kane as soon as he returns to Tottenham Hotspur training.

Kane’s World Cup campaign with England came to an end on Saturday as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to France.

The 29-year-old scored the Three Lions’ only goal of the game from the spot but couldn’t beat his club captain Hugo Lloris for a second time.

The Spurs talisman blazed his penalty over the crossbar with just six minutes of the game left, meaning Olivier Giroud’s effort proved to be the winner.

The England captain will undoubtedly need some time to get over the heartache of exiting the World Cup, especially after the penalty miss. And it seems that his boss at club level will hold personal talks with him as soon as he’s back in training.

What Conte is planning to do with Kane

The Daily Mail reports that Kane will only have a week to get over England’s World Cup exit as he’s set to return to training next Monday.

Conte is planning to talk to the Spurs striker when he’s back at Hotspur Way to check on his state of mind.

It will certainly take Kane some time to get over Saturday’s game and he admitted that the loss will “hurt for a long time.”

It’s a nice touch from Conte that he is seemingly planning to check up on his talisman after a massive setback.

The Italian will be fully aware that Kane is desperate to get his hands on some silverware and Saturday’s penalty miss will be a bitter pill to swallow for the England captain.

Kane boasts a near-flawless record from the penalty spot and was unfortunate to misfire his effort in the quarter-final of a major tournament.

But the Spurs star has bounced back from big setbacks in the past and he will undoubtedly be ready to give his all for Conte once he returns to north London.
