West Ham United youngster Xande Silva is reportedly set to join Greek side Aris on loan for the 2020/21 season.
According to Sky Sports’ live blog (05/10, 09:05), the 23-year-old is primed to depart the London club to begin a temporary new adventure.
Silva signed for West Ham from Vitoria Guimaraes on the watch of Manuel Pellegrini in the summer of 2018.
To date, the star has made just one Premier League appearances, spending most of his time developing with the U23s.
That development was hampered somewhat last season, when the player required emergency bowel surgery, causing him to miss the start of the 2019/20 season.
Having been playing youth football most of the time he has been in England, the club are now ready to let Silva head out to get regularly minutes playing senior football.
TBR’s View – A chance for Silva
West Ham are probably making the right decision loaning Silva out.
Some supporters will have hoped to see Silva turn out more times for the first-team after he made a really bright start with the U23s shortly after his move.
It hasn’t panned out that way, and he still seems some way off playing for the West Ham first-team.
Hopefully, the player can make the most of a move to Aris – who currently top the Greek Super League – if he can secure a move before the deadline.
