West Ham United and Aston Villa are amongst a host of Premier League clubs interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dion Sanderson, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Hammers and Villans are planning to scout the 20-year-old once the season resumes.
Sanderson has only made one first-team appearance for Wolves. But he has impressed during his handful of appearances on loan at Cardiff City.
And his form is attracting plenty of attention.
The Daily Mail reports that David Moyes plans to scout Sanderson once the campaign is back up and running.
Meanwhile, Southampton, Norwich City and Brighton and Hove Albion are all reportedly keen on the youngster.
And the Daily Mail has suggested that the Premier League sides looking to land Sanderson’s signature believe that Wolves could be open to offers for the academy graduate.
TBR View – Interest in Sanderson is a huge statement
It says a lot that so many clubs want Sanderson. He has only made four first-team appearances during his career. And yet, he has a quarter of the Premier League after him.
But it may not be easy to lure Sanderson away from Molineux. The centre-back has spent around 13 years on Wolves’ books and he may have been dreaming of making the grade with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Their continued success may however, make it harder for Sanderson to see a path for himself at Wolves.
And that may open the door for the likes of West Ham and Aston Villa to potentially make a move once the transfer window does open.
