Report: West Ham want to sign Juventus player with 'no fear', Bonucci is a big fan

West Ham, Southampton and Crystal Palace have all enquired about Juventus gem Koni De Winter, according to Tutto Juve. The talented player is currently on loan at Empoli and is now attracting flirtatious glances from the Premier League.

De Winter signed for Juventus from Zulte Wagarem in Belgium. He initially joined the youth ranks but he’s made two appearances in the senior ranks for the Serie A outfit.

The youngster is now on the radar of Premier League clubs. His form with Empoli has been catching the eye and during 2022/23 he’s made eight appearances and starting to truly learn his trade in a European top-flight.

Signing De Winter won’t come easily. Juventus don’t really want to lose the 19-year-old and the report claims that he could be valued at around £13-18 million should he continue to impress.

The defender missed out on selection for Belgium at the World Cup. He has been nursing a small problem with his hamstring in the weeks leading up to the tournament and that saw him miss out.

He will be part of the future of Belgium though. The European Championship qualifiers start shortly after the World Cup finishes and perhaps he will be selected for that campaign instead.

De Winter will remain on loan with Empoli for the 2022/23 campaign. As a result, West Ham, Southampton and Palace will have to bide their time when it comes to landing the uncompromising central defender.

West Ham, Southampton and Palace want De Winter

It’s no surprise to see the player on the radar of Premier League clubs. In October 2021, Leonardo Bonucci said that the youngster played with ‘no fear’ following a win for Juventus over Malmo in the Champions League.

De Winter could possibly bring something to all three of the interested clubs. He certainly looks like a player who will be a future star, although a lack of men’s football might not make him a signing to make an immediate impact.

Still, all three clubs have a decent track record of allowing youngsters a platform to play. That could persuade the player to make the move to the Premier League and he’d surely relish the challenge.
