West Ham are interested in Southampton centre-back Jannik Vestergaard as David Moyes looks to strengthen his defence, according to a report from The Telegraph.
The Hammers have not had the easiest time bolstering their options at the back.

Kurt Zouma has reportedly rejected a move to the London Stadium. And according to The Telegraph, Fiorentina are demanding a high price for Nikola Milenkovic.
That appears to have prompted the Irons to look at Vestergaard. The Telegraph notes that he has one year left on his contract at St Mary’s.

Vestergaard a target who may divide West Ham fans
Vestergaard has not always had the best time since joining the Saints. He cost £18 million. And for some time, it appeared that he was destined to be an incredibly disappointing signing.
However, he has got a lot better in the last couple of years. And of course, he helped Denmark reach the semi-finals of Euro 2020.
He does have limitations. He is not the fastest. But he is a huge presence, and actually possesses a brilliant passing range.
So he could certainly be a very impressive signing for the Hammers – even if some fans may need a little convincing.
Better deal than another centre-back signing from the Saints?
For some, a deal would evoke memories of the move that saw Jose Fonte swap St Mary’s for the Hammers in 2017.
Ultimately, that move did not work out particularly well. Fonte left after just over a year in the capital.
Supporters will be hoping that Vestergaard proves to be a much better signing if he makes the same move in the coming weeks.
