Report: West Ham United potentially keen on contract rebel Moussa Marega

West Ham United are reportedly looking into a deal for Porto striker Moussa Marega this summer, according to reports.

The Express is claiming that The Hammers are keen on the player after he rejected his most recent contract offer at the Portuguese club.

The 29-year-old is out of contract next summer and recent reports in Portugal have suggested Marega wants a move to the Premier League this summer.

A Bola is reporting that the Mali international has Porto in a tough spot, by refusing a new deal and declaring his intent to leave. Rather than lose him for free, Porto are looking for buyers this summer.

West Ham are seemingly in the hunt, following a tenuous link in January. Foot Mercato reported that the Hammers were keen on a loan deal for the player, which fell on deaf ears.

West Ham’s big striker signing from last summer, Sebastien Haller, struggled to have an impact in the Premier League and is being linked with a move away from the club after just one season.

Michail Antonio established himself as David Moyes’ primary attacking threat toward the end of the season but another recruit would undoubtedly help West Ham stay clear of the bottom three in 2020-21.

Marega, who has been a consistent scorer during his time in Portugal, including 15 goals in 45 games in 2019-20, would fit the bill.
