Report: West Ham told Onuachu will cost £17.3m by agent
West Ham have been told Paul Onuachu will cost them €15m (£12.9m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add ons by the player’s agent.
The striker was in sensational form in the Belgian top-flight last season, scoring 33 goals, earning him the player of the year award.
It’s claimed that Onuachu’s dream is to play in the Premier League. At 27-years-old, time is running out for the ace to achieve it.
Own Goal Nigeria have claimed the east Londoners are leading the queue to sign the African.
TBR View: West Ham need the potency of Onuachu after the claim from his agent
Last season was a brilliant year for West Ham, but, no matter how well you perform there are always improvements to make.
In David Moyes’ case, it’s sharing and increasing the goal tally of the attackers.
Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard led the way with 10 and nine goals respectively, however, the rest were underwhelming.
Whilst Jarrod Bowen struck eight times, his form fell off drastically towards the end of the campaign.
However, those three aside, the remaining forwards were poor with Pablo Fornals the highest goalscorer with five.
Signing the 35-goal Onuachu would be a step in the right direction. His towering figure and potency would add a different dimension to Antonio.
The former Nottingham Forest ace doesn’t strike you as a conventional striker. Onuachu would be an upgrade on the Englishman.
