Report: West Ham to press ahead with £20m Jesse Lingard move

According to the Express, West Ham will look to make a permanent move for Jesse Lingard this summer after his impressive loan spell.

Currently on loan from Manchester United, the report claims that Lingard is open to a move to London on a regular basis, after becoming a key player for David Moyes in the last few weeks.

It is believed a bid in the region of £20m could be enough to tempt Manchester United into a sale. Hammers boss David Moyes has already admitted he would like to see Lingard sign on a permanent deal.

Lingard, who has 24 caps for England and four goals, had been frozen out somewhat at Old Trafford. But he has exploded into life with West Ham, scoring four goals in just six games in the Premier League, while adding two more assists.

The Hammers are on course for a place in Europe this season. They have money in the bank from the sale of Sebastien Haller in January, so a £20m fee for Lingard shouldn’t prove problematic.

TBR View: A no brainer, West Ham and Lingard look a match made in heaven

Sometimes a player just looks like he’s made for a club and Lingard certainly looks made for West Ham. He’s been one of the best players, not just for the Hammers, but in the entire league in the last month or so.

At £20m, Lingard is something of a snip for the Hammers too.

David Moyes certainly wants the deal to happen and if they have any sense, Gold and Sullivan will move as quickly as possible to get this one over the line for Moyes.
