West Ham are reportedly interested in attacker Said Benrahma from London club Brentford.

According to the Mirror, the Hammers are set to join the race to sign the 24-year-old if Brentford fail to earn promotion from the Championship play-offs.

It is claimed that West Ham boss David Moyes wants to bring down the average age of his squad and is prepared to look at Championship players, after Jarrod Bowen proved to be a massive success at the London Stadium following his January arrival.

The report adds that West Ham could help fund a move by offloading some of their current stars, with Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson and Albian Ajeti all made available this summer.

Benrahma has been in sensational form this campaign so far for Brentford, scoring 17 goals and supplying nine assists in 43 Championship matches.

The Algerian winger is going to be pivotal in his club’s play-off matches and he has a £35million price tag (La Gazette du Fennec).

TBR’s View – Benrahma would be an immense signing

Moyes reportedly wants a talented individual from the Championship to help bring down the squad’s average age, which is why Brentford wide man Benrahma fits that blueprint for the summer.

He is a dazzling left-winger that is extremely skilful on the ball and it will be no surprise to see him make the step up to the top-flight with ease, as he’s been a standout player in the second-tier this season.

Benrahma has proven to be so lethal cutting in from the left flank and having him on the opposite side to Bowen could make West Ham a really exciting team to watch.
