West Ham will reportedly face competition for defender Frederick Ibsen Alves, with Torino supposedly now in the frame.
It had been claimed recently that the Hammers were all set to land the 21-year-old from Silkeborg IF.
Danish outlet BT had reported that Alves was due to undergo a medical at the club and join up with his new teammates in January.
It was claimed by the publication that West Ham were to pay between £1.2 million and £1.45 million for the youngster, who had agreed a deal until 2024.
But the move appears not to be so set in stone as was first thought, with Calciomercato now reporting Italian side Torino are on the scene.
Very little detail is provided – just that the Serie A outfit are now in the mix.
The Denmark U21 international has made eight appearances for the Nordicbet Liga side so far this season.
TBR’s View – West Ham can’t let deal slip
If Alves is the man West Ham want, they can’t let a deal slip.
It seemed as though this was a deal that was close – to allow another team to steal in at this point would be a bad look.
Fans have been critical of the owners regarding transfers and rightly so – losing out on Alves would do little to get them back onside.
