The Daily Mail have claimed that West Ham United have tabled a £20million bid to sign Fiorentina colossus Nikola Milenkovic as the Hammers desperately look to add a central defender to their squad before Monday’s deadline.
Milenkovic, 22, is just two appearances short of reaching a century for La Viola – despite his tender age. In that time, he has gained admiring glances from all over Europe, including Manchester United according to the Mail’s report.
The defender, who stands at 6ft 5in, has even become renowned as a goalscoring defender – given his enormous frame. He has netted eight times in 98 outings, five of which came last season – scoring against Napoli and Roma.
West Ham are interested in defenders such as James Tarkowski, Wesley Fofana, Nikola Maksimovic and plenty of others. But the Hammers are now said to have placed a £20million bid for Milenkovic.

TBR’s view – Milenkovic is the perfect West Ham United player
Under David Moyes, West Ham are looking to become a sturdy, physical side that are a threat from set-pieces and in the air. Tomas Soucek, Michail Antonio, Declan Rice, Angelo Ogbonna and plenty of others are powerful when it comes to heading.
Milenkovic would fit right at home in that West Ham style. Still only 22 and plenty of experience at his age, Milenkovic would be a stunning signing for the Hammers – if not the perfect one. But they may have to increase their offer.
