West Ham have reportedly returned with a new offer for Burnley defender James Tarkowski, after they saw a first bid rejected by their Premier League rivals.
According to the Telegraph, the Hammers saw a £27million offer rejected last week for the highly-rated centre-back.
It is claimed that that West Ham have now returned with an improved £30million bid and they believe they can get him for cheaper than his £50million release clause.
The report explains that Hammers boss David Moyes wants to sign the 27-year-old this summer to improve the backline at the London Stadium.
Tarkowski, who earns £50,000-a-week (Spotrac), has been a player at Burnley since he moved to Turf Moor in 2016 and proven himself to be such a consistent performer in the Premier League.
He played every single minute in the top-flight last season for them and is a no-nonsense centre-back that has also earned two senior international caps for England due to his level of performances.

TBR’s View:
West Ham fans are fuming over the club’s transfer business so far this summer, with the sale of youngster Grady Diangana one that received plenty of reaction.
But they are at least trying to show some intent by going after a proven player in Tarkowski, who could improve the club’s XI straight away.
It’s arguably not the position that the Hammers need to strengthen most, but Moyes is keen on securing a deal for him and £30million seems a fair price for the English enforcer.
