West Ham United remain interested in signing Kurt Zouma from Chelsea in a £25 million deal, the Guardian suggest.
Back in the hunt
West Ham are on the hunt for a central defender and have pushed to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina already this summer.
However, the move has collapsed, which has seemingly put Zouma back on their radar.
The latest update actually suggests that Chelsea’s asking price for the centre-back is not much of an issue.
However, West Ham are not willing to pay the Frenchman’s wage demands at this stage.
Zouma apparently is demanding £120,000-a-week to join West Ham (The Sun), which is putting the Hammers off.

No time to delay?
Whether those demands will reduce in time remains to be seen, especially if he struggles for game time over the rest of the month with Chelsea.
But West Ham surely cannot afford to delay the deal for too much longer.
The Hammers have made an excellent start to their campaign with a victory over Newcastle United.
But there are concerns about their lack of squad depth, and Zouma’s arrival could certainly help give David Moyes a stronger foundation to build around.
