West Ham are planning to make a £30 million bid for Ismaila Sarr, with The Sun reporting that Crystal Palace may prove to be their only competition for the Watford star’s signature.
The Hammers seemingly cannot afford to let the window close without signing a new forward. The club sold Sebastien Haller this week after the Frenchman’s mixed spell at the London Stadium.

And it appears that the Watford star is on their radar as they consider replacements. In fact, The Sun has reported that the Irons are preparing a £30 million offer for the 22-year-old.
It is noted that both of the Premier League’s current top two targeted Sarr in the summer. However, it was Palace who made the biggest push to sign him following Watford’s relegation.

The Sun reports that the Eagles bid £25 million plus add-ons just before the previous deadline. And it is hinted that they may be interested once again this month.
TBR View: Sarr a fantastic prospect, but £30m move may come with risk
Sarr looks to have the talent to be well worth a £30 million fee. He scored five goals and contributed four assists in the top flight last year. And he already has four goals this season.
But West Ham really need a striker this month. So perhaps it would be fair to argue that it is slightly riskier to target Sarr to fill that void.
He is an extremely versatile player, who is superb out wide. He has scored a couple of goals through the middle so far this season. But he is arguably yet to really prove himself as a striker.
Moyes perhaps needs to weigh up whether the long-term benefit of a £30 million move for Sarr makes up for a slightly weaker group of strikers for the coming months.
