West Ham are reportedly planning to sort a new contract for their midfielder Tomas Soucek.

According to the Athletic, there are already plans from the Hammers to get the 26-year-old tied down to a new “improved” deal at the London Stadium.

The report explains that West Ham’s desire for a fresh contract comes at a time where he’s attracting interest from European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, which just proves how his reputation has soared with the London club.

Alongside Declan Rice, Soucek has formed an incredible midfield combination since his move to English football, and he’s a mainstay in David Moyes’ starting XI.

The Czech Republic international is a central midfielder that helps protect the back four with gritty defensive work, but he’s scored nine league goals so far this season as well to highlight his attacking threat in the air.

Soucek, who earns £67,000-a-week (Spotrac), has proven to be a perfect fit for English football with his strength and overall physicality.

He’s been compared to ex-Premier League player Marouane Fellaini, who played some of his best football under Moyes when the duo were both at Merseyside club Everton.

Soucek has been a real driving force in a West Ham side that are fifth in the league standings right now chasing Champions League qualification, and they know a win at home to Chelsea this weekend will see them move into fourth.
