Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport have claimed that West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Roma veteran Edin Dzeko from Paulo Fonseca’s side this month, by an Italian agent.
Dzeko, now 34, is still firing in the goals for Roma since joining the club from Manchester City in the summer of 2016. He has stats of 114 goals and 52 assists in 242 appearances for the Italian giants, and eight in 20 this season.
But despite that form, he was left out of Roma’s side over the weekend as Fonseca’s men beat Spezia 4-3. The report claims Fonseca and Dzeko have fallen out behind the scenes, and have been against eachother for months.
The report claims that Dezko – who has 18 months left on a contract worth £120,000 (CDS) – has been offered to West Ham. Back in 2019, the Express claimed Manuel Pellegrini wanted Dzeko at the London Stadium.

TBR’s view – Dzeko could be the ideal addition
West Ham need a striker that realises he cannot play every game. Michail Antonio is clearly first choice and is crucial to the identity David Moyes has formed at the London Stadium. Paying big money at this point, is pointless.
West Ham need to be signing a striker that is happy to sit on the bench, and play the last 20 minutes – as well as featuring in the cup games. A player who is entering the latter stages of their career is probably ideal.
Dzeko cannot play every single minute of action in the Premier League. So, making him Antonio’s second choice would be ideal – but he is likely to cost a lot of many in wages. West Ham fans will have to wait and see.
