Reporter Dharmesh Sheth has told Sky Sports News on Tuesday that West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Montpellier speed machine Andy Delort – days after the Frenchman was linked with Wolves and Newcastle.
Delort, 29, has been on fire for Montpellier this season. He has scored nine goals in 18 Ligue 1 appearances as well as laying on an impressive six assists for the French side, captaining them in eight of those matches.
A 10-time Algeria international, Delort has stated on Twitter that he is keen on remaining with Montpellier – following reports from The Sun that Wolves and Newcastle were considering a £14million move for Delort.
West Ham are trying to sign a striker after selling Seb Haller to Ajax for little over £20million and have been linked with numerous players. Now, transfer expert Sheth has claimed that Delort has been offered to West Ham.
“West Ham have also been offered the chance to sign Andy Delort,” Sheth said. “Four or five Premier League clubs are interested. A source has told me he is the fastest player in the French league, even faster than Kylian Mbappe.”

TBR’s view – Mbappe speed gives West Ham a plan B
Under David Moyes, West Ham have established an identity that works. They sit in an excellent tenth position at this mid-point in the season – coming a long way from the 17th place when Moyes took over for a second time.
Michail Antonio’s power and strength gives the Hammers a vocal point. He is crucial to the way they play, but Delort is very different to that. However, if he does have Mbappe-like speed, it gives the Hammers an excellent plan B.
