West Ham United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
According to The London Evening Standard, the Ivory Coast international is available on a loan deal until the end of the season, and manager David Moyes wants to add some steel to his midfield.
Kessie himself is keen on a move to England, and intermediaries are apparently trying to make a switch happen for him.
A central midfielder is thought to be a priority for West Ham this month and Kessie – a man who has been frequently linked with a move to the London Stadium – is someone that fits the bill.
West Ham were recently beaten to Gedson Fernandes by Tottenham Hotspur, and so the club are now looking at alternatives.
Kessie has caught the eye in a struggling Milan team this season, and could now be on his way out of San Siro.
TBR’s view – Kessie would be a great West Ham signing
West Ham would benefit from having a player like Kessie in their ranks.
At the moment it’s all a bit one-paced and lethargic.
The engine room lacks mobility with Declan Rice and Mark Noble, but box-to-box Kessie would see West Ham gain a ball-carrier – someone who can dribble through the lines which is sometimes what’s needed.
If there is any genuine suggestion Kessie wants to join this month, then the Hammers should be all over it.
