Report: West Ham now interested in signing free agent soon, David Moyes said he was a ‘real talent’ way back in 2013

West Ham United are now interested in signing free agent Adnan Januzaj, according to Diario AS. And Hammers boss David Moyes said he was a ‘real talent’ back in 2013.

Januzaj recently left La Liga outfit Real Sociedad on a free transfer and is still looking for a club.

The 27-year-old winger played under Moyes at Manchester United and the Scotsman previously heaped praise on him.

Speaking to the Mirror after his former side beat West Ham in 2013, Moyes was delighted with Januzaj.

“Adnan Januzaj is doing really well,” he said.

“We are always hard on him, we always want more but he is doing remarkably well. He can score goals; he is a real talent.”

Now nine years on from managing Januzaj at United, AS Diario reports that Moyes is interested in reuniting with the player. 

Everton and Los Angeles Galaxy are also keen on the player after he became a free agent this summer.

The Toffees and West Ham are apparently in the best position to sign the winger this summer.

AS notes that Everton would have to sell Anthony Gordon before moving for Januzaj, which could give West Ham the upper hand.

The Belgian was seen as an up-and-coming star during his time at United after promising displays in the Premier League at just 18-years-old.

But after underwhelming spells at Borussia Dortmund, Sunderland and Real Soceidad, he is now a free agent.

Januzaj may not be a name that excites West Ham supporters but he’s a player that Moyes will know very well.

The Scotsman has seen the Belgian’s potential first-hand during his time at United and even at Sunderland.

Although Januzaj’s period at Sunderland didn’t quite work out well under Moyes, it seems they could reunite for a third time.

Moyes is looking to bolster his attacking options and Januzaj is a versatile player that can cover a range of positions across the midfield and attack.
