West Ham United’s interest in Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri will not see the club allow him to be part of any potential swap deal involving Declan Rice.
That is according to a report from The Independent, who claim that West Ham would preferably want to do a loan deal with Chelsea for the Italian international.
However, the immediate suggestion that Chelsea could offer Emerson in a swap deal for the West Ham midfielder, who is a major target of Frank Lampard’s, has been ruled out by the publication.

They claim that any such offer would fall on deaf ears, with West Ham completely averse to the idea of letting their England international leave this summer.
Rice has been linked with a move to his former club Chelsea on a number of occasions this summer, with a reported (The Times) £80 million price-tag slapped on the player’s head to deter any move from Chelsea.
The hope, it seems, is that West Ham’s desire for a new left-back and fondness for Emerson might see them reduce that price-tag.
Unfortunately, for Chelsea, that does not appear to be the case and West Ham will likely only be snapping up Emerson if it is on a loan deal.
