Report: West Ham matched PSG's contract offer for Fabian Ruiz

West Ham United have matched PSG’s offer for Fabian Ruiz, but Foot Mercato reports that the 26-year-old has no interest in joining the Hammers this summer.

West Ham supporters will be hoping for a busy end to the window. They have made a handful of impressive signings so far. But you could understand if their fans felt they needed more.

Unfortunately, a £33.5 million deal for Amadou Onana looks to have fallen through due to Everton. And with that, West Ham are looking elsewhere to bolster their midfield ranks.

And it seems that they have made a big play for Fabian.

Foot Mercato reports that PSG are discussing a five-year deal worth around £81,000-a-week for the Napoli star. They are however, yet to open talks with the Serie A side.

Interestingly, the report adds that West Ham are thought to have made the same proposal to Fabian. Unfortunately, the news is not positive for the Hammers.

Foot Mercato claims that Fabian is not interested in a move to West Ham. Instead, he wants to make the switch to Parc des Princes.

West Ham have matched PSG’s offer for Fabian Ruiz

It may well be frustrating for West Ham supporters. Obviously, excitement will build when they hear that they are after players such as Fabian, or offering over £30 million for Onana.

And some of those moves have paid off. Gianluca Scamacca could be a really exciting addition. But there have now been a number of setbacks.

West Ham arguably need to step up their transfer plans if they want to remain within touching distance of the top six after two outstanding years.

Signing a player of Fabian’s calibre would change the complexion of West Ham’s window. He is a ‘spectacular‘ midfielder.

But it is not going to be the Spaniard himself ending up at the London Stadium, it seems.
