West Ham United have reportedly seen a bid turned down by Sampdoria for midfielder Ronaldo Vieira.
According to a report from Sport Mediaset, the Hammers tabled an offer of £12 million for the former Leeds United player, who has been in Italy now for the past 18 months.
Sampdoria have no intention of losing the Guinea Bissau-born player – who has represented the England U20s and U21s.

West Ham are currently light on midfield options, with Declan Rice, Mark Noble and veteran Carlos Sanchez the options available to David Moyes right now.
Jack Wilshere has spent all season injured, and Manuel Lanzini has only just come back after a significant period out.
Vieira, who has made 20 appearances this season – has a contract at Sampdoria until 2023, meaning the ball is, seemingly, firmly in the Italian side’s court.
TBR’s view – Vieira would provide mobility
If West Ham were able to pull off a deal for Vieira this month then he would give their midfield some much needed mobility.

Rice and Noble are not the quickest or most agile central midfielders and there can sometimes be occasions where they are chasing shadows.
Vieira would certainly come in and be above the disastrous Sanchez in the pecking order, so perhaps he might be tempted to seek a move if West Ham were to come back with an improved offer.
