West Ham United have confirmed their interest in Jonathan Tah, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Hammers have made an enquiry for the centre-back ahead of the transfer deadline.
The Hammers have now kept two clean sheets in a row in the Premier League. Nevertheless, it is little surprise to see the club look to strengthen in that area before the window shuts.
And it appears that Tah may now be the most likely target to end up at the London Stadium.
According to the Sunday Mirror (4/10; page 73) over the weekend, the Irons led the race for the £25 million-rated Bayer Leverkusen man.
And the Daily Mail is now reporting that an enquiry has been made.
It remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached for the Germany international. But it would certainly be a boost for David Moyes’s side if a deal could be done.
Tah looks to be an incredibly promising talent. And at 24, his best years should still be just ahead of him.
He is a player who is excellent on the ball, but also capable of utilising the attributes of a no-nonsense defender.
And if he is available for £25 million, it could prove to be a fantastic piece of business from West Ham to reach an agreement.
