West Ham United have reportedly made Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud their number one priority signing for the January transfer window.
According to The Mirror, David Moyes is desperate to land the experienced French striker, who has been in and out of the first XI under Frank Lampard this term.

Giroud, 34, scored four goals in one game for the Blues against Sevilla in the Champions League but dropped back to the bench for the win over the Hammers this past midweek.
A number of clubs are said to be keeping an eye on Giroud, with Spurs among the clubs to have registered interest. However, it is the Hammers who could push the boat out to sign the Frenchman, with the Mirror claiming they could sell Andriy Yarmolenko to fund a move.

Giroud needs just 12 goals to reach the 100 mark in the Premier League having notched 88 times in spells with Arsenal and Chelsea.
Haller clearly not done enough it seems – TBR View
Signing Giroud would be the clearest indication yet that Moyes simply doesn’t fully back Sebastien Haller.
The big striker has done ok at times but has also looked short of the £45m player the Hammers thought they were getting.
Giroud, on the other hand, offers experience, goals, and quality at the highest level. Yes, he’s 34, but as a short-term option, he’d be a fine addition to this Hammers squad.
