West Ham United have made William Saliba a top priority for the summer, with Jeunes Footeux reporting that they could offer up to £25 million for the Arsenal centre-back.

Gunners fans are starting to see speculation surrounding Saliba start up again. It was reported this week that the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan all want the 20-year-old.

However, subsequent reports claimed that Arsenal plan to keep Saliba next season. In fact, it has been suggested that he could be offered a new contract at the Emirates.

Saliba is currently on loan at Marseille. Remarkably, he is yet to make his debut for the Gunners. But he has been extremely impressive in Ligue 1.

Matteo Guendouzi has labelled his form ‘extraordinary‘.

No player has completed a greater number of passes in the French top-flight than Saliba. According to FB Ref, he is 275 clear of anyone else in the division.

And with that, his form has caught the eye of one of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals. Jeunes Footeux reports that West Ham want Saliba. He is said to be a top priority for the summer.

Meanwhile, they could offer up to £25 million for the Frenchman.

Arsenal will surely not want to sell Saliba to West Ham

There is a sense of uncertainty over Saliba’s future at Arsenal. It is alarming to many that Mikel Arteta has found no place in his plans for the youngster. So there looks to be no guarantee that he will be involved next season.

Having said that, Arsenal will surely be wary of selling him to West Ham. The two clubs are both involved in the battle for the top four this season. And they could be rivals again next term.

It would not be easy for Arsenal fans to stomach seeing Saliba thrive at the Bernabeu or San Siro. But if he is not going to get his chance with the Gunners, surely the club would not be open to letting Saliba join West Ham either.
