Report: West Ham make Aaron Ramsey enquiry, but there's an issue
West Ham United are one of the Premier League sides to have made an enquiry regarding Aaron Ramsey, but Calciomercato claims that there is a big hurdle putting the Hammers off.
Ramsey may well be on the move this summer. He has not had the best time in Juventus, struggling to hold down a place in the side.
In fact, Calciomercato reports that Juve want to offload the Welshman during the coming months. However, those who have made initial contact have one major concern.
Calciomercato claims that West Ham and Crystal Palace have made enquiries. But his wages would prove too expensive for the pair.
TBR View: West Ham right to back away – but should not shut door
Even if Ramsey is earning the lower figure mentioned above, West Ham are surely right to back away from pursuing a deal.
However, they should not rule out a move altogether just yet. Calciomercato notes that Juve may have to be prepared to cover some of his wages for the final two years of his deal.
If they can agree a move on lower terms therefore, Ramsey could be an inspired addition for West Ham.
David Moyes has shown with Jesse Lingard that it is wrong to completely write off any player who has previously been one of the league’s best.
So if the Hammers can land Ramsey on lower terms, it could well prove to be an outstanding piece of business.
