West Ham United are considering a move for Gillingham defender Jack Tucker, according to a report from The Sun, with the Hammers’ scouts raving about the 20-year-old.
Tucker has made 26 league appearances for the League One side this term. The large majority of those appearances have come at centre-back, but he has also been deployed at right-back on a handful of occasions.

Steve Evans’s men have the third best defensive record in the division this term. They have conceded just 30 goals this season.
The Sun reports that the Gills tied Tucker down to a new deal recently. But they would be prepared to let him leave. And it appears that he may soon attract offers from the Premier League.

The Sun suggests that Aston Villa have been tracking Tucker throughout the season. And West Ham’s scouts have reportedly been left raving about the youngster.
TBR View – West Ham fans may be encouraged by interest
West Ham have no shortage of marquee players within their squad. However, their recruitment has come in for a lot of criticism with David Moyes’s men inside the relegation zone currently.
So it may encourage some of the supporters to see the club target some exciting prospects with one eye on the future.
West Ham clearly have the potential to do a lot better than they are currently doing. But they need to get that balance right between signing the right players who immediately improve the first-team, and adding those who could play an important role in their future.
