West Ham and Leicester are amongst the clubs to have been offered Philippe Coutinho with the Sunday Mirror (15/8; page 74) reporting that Wolves have also been contacted about a move for the Brazilian.

The Mirror claims that Barcelona are desperate to move Coutinho on this summer. He earns around £148,000-a-week at the Nou Camp.

Obviously, it has been well-documented that Barca are experiencing financial problems. And it appears that getting rid of Coutinho in some capacity is crucial for the Catalan giants.

The Sunday Mirror (15/8; page 74) reports that Kia Joorabchian has been tasked with speaking to the Hammers, Wolves and the Foxes about the 29-year-old.

It is claimed that Barca will consider a loan. And they are prepared to pay 40 per cent of his wages to make it happen.

The report adds that they want an answer by Friday.

Coutinho move would be a gamble for West Ham, Wolves or Leicester

Coutinho has not had the best time since moving to Catalonia. He was perhaps one of the world’s best players when he left the Premier League.

However, he has struggled in La Liga. And he has not played since last December due to injury.

So a move would be a huge gamble for any of the three clubs set to be offered the chance to sign him.

The arrangement set to be on the table would see them paying around £89,000-a-week for the attacking midfielder.

Both West Ham and Leicester may welcome the chance to strengthen their ranks with Europa League campaigns ahead.

The Hammers, in particular, have been incredibly quiet this summer.

Coutinho is a player with 78 goal involvements in 152 Premier League appearances. So he is certainly a player worth considering.

But there is no doubt that any move would be a roll of the dice – even if it is a loan.
