West Ham are reportedly leading the race ahead of Everton in the race for teenage prospect Brandon Aveiro from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
According to TEAMtalk, the 19-year-old has a year left on his deal at Selhurst Park but they will allow him to exit this summer with some sort of sell-on clause included.
It is understood that both Everton and Sporting Lisbon have had discussions with the attacker about a transfer, but it’s West Ham that have now moved ahead in the pursuit for his signature as they look into a deal to sign him.
The report explains that Aveiro is now currently training with the Hammers ahead of a potential move, but there is still interest from the other two suitors.
Aveiro is an exciting young prospect that is yet to play first-team football, but has been on the books at Palace since September 2018 and impressed at youth level.
He is a versatile attacker that can play on both wings and also central positions, while earlier in the 2019/20 season he scored six goals in just seven games for Palace Under-18s side before he was promoted to the Under-23s.
Both West Ham and Everton have two of the stronger academies from clubs in the Premier League, so it’s a great option for Portuguese attacker Aveiro to choose from.
They are two clubs that will feel they massively underachieved last season in the Premier League, but West Ham boss David Moyes and Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti are two experienced men that will be expecting more in the new season.
