West Ham United have been keeping tabs on Josh Dasilva heading into the January transfer window, according to a report from the Guardian.

Dasilva has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season with Brentford. The 22-year-old has scored two goals and provided three assists in the Championship this term.

It was, of course, his goal that sent Thomas Frank’s side into the last four of the Carabao Cup earlier this month. And it appears that his form has not gone unnoticed.

According to the Guardian, West Ham have been monitoring the former Arsenal academy prospect. The report does note however, that the Bees will have no interest in letting the youngster leave on the cheap.

Of course, West Ham have had some success when signing players from last season’s play-off finalists. The club currently have Said Benrahma on loan.

Benrahma has made a promising impact when given a chance. And Dasilva’s form suggests that he – like so many others in Brentford’s ranks – has the potential to make the step up to the top flight.

He is one of the most impressive passers in the Championship. According to Whoscored.com, only two players boast a better pass-completion rate than Dasilva.

Meanwhile, he is seventh in the Championship for most successful dribbles.

It seems highly unlikely that Brentford would show any willingness to let him leave next month. But they will surely be expecting plenty of interest in the summer – particularly if they do not manage to get across the line in the promotion race.
