West Ham have become the latest club to join the race to sign Ivan Toney, but The Sun reports that he is set to cost £35 million this summer.
Toney has enjoyed another incredible season. He has scored 54 league goals since the start of last season, with 30 coming following his switch to Brentford last summer.

And it appears that he could be on the move once again in the coming months – particularly if Thomas Frank’s men fail to get promoted through the play-offs.
The Sun claims that West Ham are battling Chelsea for Toney’s signature. The report suggests that Brentford want £35 million for the 25-year-old, but it is suggested that the Irons will have money to spend.

David Moyes certainly needs to bolster his striker ranks this summer. West Ham have done incredibly this term. And their achievement is all the more remarkable given that they lack depth up front.
Of course, they may be hoping to use some of their budget on keeping Jesse Lingard. So pursuing Toney may perhaps depend on how they get on trying to turn Lingard’s loan into a permanent deal.
But if they can get Toney, he could prove to be an amazing signing. He has shown that he can take a step up in his stride.
And given some of the success West Ham have had signing players from EFL clubs in recent years, there is every reason to believe that landing Toney could prove a masterstroke should they manage to bring him to the London Stadium.
