Sky Sports have claimed that West Ham United are in talks to sign Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy as the January transfer window enters its final week – just days after the French ace was linked with Dean Smith’s Aston Villa.
Guirassy, 23, joined Amiens from German side Koln in the summer but has managed just four goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances. Those goals have come against sides such as Marseille, Lille, Metz and Rennes.
The Mail have claimed in the last 24 hours that Aston Villa were interested in signing Guirassy, who joined Amiens for £5million (Mail). Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers are also said to be keen, with Jamie Vardy injuring his hamstring.
Sky Sports have now claimed that West Ham are keen to sign him with summer recruits Sebastian Haller and Albian Ajeti failing to prove value for money. Amiens did want a permanent deal, but it is now believed they will accept loan-to-buy offers.

TBR’s view – Guirassy could prove to be a bargain for West Ham
He is hardly going to cost more than the £5million Amiens spent to sign him in the summer, and on loan to begin with, the Hammers could be signing an unearthed gem with the pace and guile to keep them in the Premier League.
Guirassy does not score goal after goal but he makes up for it hard work and effort while his height could prove effective. Those are the kind of players that West Ham need if they are to survive the drop. His signing will surely see Ajeti depart.
