BBC Sport have claimed West Ham United have entered talks with the agent of Fenerbahce captain Hasan Ali Kaldirim in a bid to thrash out a bargain move for the left-back.
The 29-year-old is a solid left-back that has played for Fenerbahce since joining the club in 2012 from Kayserispor. He has clocked up an enormous 226 appearances in all competitions.
The 30-time Turkey international is also more than willing to get forward. This season, he has found the back of the net three times and turned provider on a further five occasions.
His decent form in a struggling Fener side this season has caught the eye of West Ham, who may look to bring in a new left-sided defender despite the presence of Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.
It is believed that Kaldirim a bargain £4.4million release clause in his contract, which expires in 12 months. West Ham are in talks with the player’s agent, and it is believed he is keen on a transfer to the Premier League.
Kaldirim is a very good signing, especially given the transfer fee required to land his signature.
However, landing Kaldirim will almost certainly see the sale of either England international Cresswell, or Frenchman Masuaku. The latter has been somewhat indifferent since joining the Hammers, and could be offloaded.
Meanwhile, Cresswell has certainly failed to replicate the form that saw win England caps in 2016 and 2017. It is is intriguing to see what plans Manuel Pellegrini has, but the signing of Kaldirim looks to have legs.
