The Daily Echo have claimed that West Ham United have seen a £13million bid rejected for AFC Bournemouth striker Josh King, but could return with an improved bid for the Norwegian ace – who has entered the final year of his contract.
King, 28, is expected to leave Bournemouth before the end of the domestic deadline on Friday. That is largely because of his current contract situation, but also because Eddie Howe failed to keep the Cherries in the Premier League last term.
The former Manchester United star, who has 50 caps for Norway, has emerged as a target for West Ham with David Moyes’ side looking to secure a couple of deals before the end of the window. A move for Said Benrahma looks as though it will go through.
Bournemouth had turned down an offer from Serie A side Torino on October 4, and West Ham remain in talks with King’s agent. It remains to be seen whether West Ham will return with an improved offer for King.

TBR’s view – King would be an excellent signing, but at what price?
King is a top player with enormous Premier League experience. He has clocked up 48 goals in 161 Premier League outings, and although he may struggle to start for West Ham with Benrahma being signed – he would still be an excellent addition.
However, there is a limit to how much West Ham should spend. King is now 28, and he is in the final year of his contract. He can be approached by foreign sides on a free in January. West Ham should not be held to ransom.
Anything more than £16million would become expensive for a player that should be sold in a cut-price deal.
