West Ham United are reportedly now looking at a big ask to sign James Tarkowski, with Leicester City apparently now ready to enter the race.
According to The Daily Star, Brendan Rodgers’ side are preparing to lodge a bid worth £30 million for the Burnley central defender.
It comes after West Ham reportedly launched a £20 million offer with add-ons (Telegraph).

The £50,000-a-week star (Spotrac) is one of Burnley’s key players and did not miss a single minute in the Premier League last term.
He is seen as something of a priority target for Hammers boss David Moyes, who is known to want to add a centre-half with experience ahead of 2020/21.
But his hopes of landing Tarkowski might just have been seriously dented, with Leicester able to offer Europa League football.
TBR’s View – The frustrations continue for West Ham fans
News of Leicester’s arrival on the scene for Tarkowski will no doubt frustrate West Ham supporters, many of whom are still reeling from the sale of Grady Diangana.

Tarkowski is somebody who would undoubtedly bolster the Irons’ backline, but the Foxes have the means to blow the Londoners out of the water.
With the Premier League returning next weekend, West Ham can’t afford to waste too much time negotiating with Burnley.
