Report: West Ham eyeing £10m-rated Mohamed Bayo from Clermont
West Ham are already planning for the next few transfer windows and, according to The Sun, have eyes on Clermont striker, Mohamed Bayo.
The Hammers have started the season in fine form and won again yesterday, this time coming from behind to see off Leeds United at Elland Road.
The Hammers’ winning goal came courtesy of electric striker, Michail Antonio. He’s started the season in fine form, but the Hammers know that if he gets an injury, they don’t have a lot of replacements.
But The Sun suggest David Moyes is looking to address that issue with the potential signing of Bayo. Clermont value the 23-year-old at £10m, and West Ham have already shown an interest during the summer.
Bayo has already hit three in six this season for Clermont. Impressively, he smashed in 22 last term, with a further seven assists along the way as well.
However, due to his African Cup of Nations duties, the report claims a move for Bayo is more likely next summer, rather than in January.
TBR’s View: Bayo ideal as West Ham look to keep building
David Moyes has really got the Hammers ticking along nicely so the time is right for them to add new faces to ensure things carry on.
Bayo certainly looks a top talent. At 23, he still has a bit of rawness about him but he knows where the net is, has pace and power, and isn’t the most expensive.
For the Hammers, it’s simply about keeping the momentum going and continuing to improve. Bayo, it seems, would add to this squad.
