TuttoSport claim West Ham are battling Sampdoria to sign Juventus left-back Luca Pellegrini – after his agent met the club in Turin on Monday.
Pellegrini, 22, joined Juventus for £20million from Roma in the summer of 2019 (Goal). But he is yet to make his senior Juventus debut since the move.
Instead, he has been on loan. During 2019-20, he impressed at Cagliari – clocking up seven assists in 36 games. Last season, he was at Genoa.
The one-time Italy international suffered a long-term thigh injury, with Pellegrini managing just 12 outings for Genoa. Now fit, he could leave again.
The report claims his agent met with Juventus in Turin on Monday and both Sampdoria and West Ham are battling to sign the left-sided defender.

Pellegrini to West Ham: On loan, a brilliant signing
He would be a sensational addition for the Hammers – but only on loan. Not just because a loan would be quicker to sort on deadline day.
But more importantly, because Pellegrini needs to show that he has overcome the injury issues he sustained last season. His groin is a problem.
If Pellegrini can overcome that, then West Ham could consider a permanent deal. A loan-to-buy option makes perfect sense, then.
The Hammers do need a left-back, with Aaron Cresswell used as a left-sided centre-back and Arthur Masuaku out of the side last season through injury.
With the Europa League group stage coming soon, West Ham need depth and Pellegrini makes sense. But only on loan, first.
