TuttoMercatoWeb say West Ham United are ‘close’ to completing the signing of Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic. The Serbia international has been excellent over the last few years for La Viola. It appears that West Ham are about to beat Tottenham to the signing of Milenkovic.
Milenkovic, 23, has caught the eye after clocking up a whopping 133 appearances for the Italian outfit since joining the club in 2017. But Milenkovic has entered the final 12 months of his current contract. It has seen clubs come calling – TMW recently saying Tottenham were in talks.
But it appears West Ham have now taken the lead in the race to land the 6ft 5in colossus. The report says West Ham are ‘close’ to signing Milenkovic after agreeing a £17million fee with Gennaro Gattuso’s side. But it remains to be seen what Milenkovic wants to do, with interest from both clubs.

Beating Tottenham to Milenkovic would be a real coup for West Ham
West Ham fans will argue that they finished above Tottenham and are in this season’s Europa League. But ultimately, and not many can argue with this, Tottenham are a bigger club with bigger infrastructure and better facilities. That is true. It is an attraction for the best players around.
So, while West Ham are perhaps on the up and in a better European competition – Tottenham still propose a more flattering option. If the Hammers get his signature ahead of Fabio Paratici and Tottenham, then, they deserve massive praise because it is a real coup at £17million
