West Ham are reportedly trying to offload Jack Wilshere from the squad this summer.
According to the Times, the Hammers want to try move the 28-year-old on from the London Stadium, as his time with them has been wrecked by persistent injuries.
It is claimed that David Moyes’ side are currently holding talks with the midfielder about his future and could be prepare to buy him out of the final year of his contract.
The report adds that alternatively West Ham could subsidise a move to another club and would be willing to make up the difference in his £100,000-a-week wages if an interested party want to sign him.
Wilshere has played just 18 first-team games across the last two seasons to highlight his lack of action and it’s certainly not what you expect from a £100,000-a-week man.
The 34-cap England international showed in the early stages of his career that was a top-class central midfielder and played with such flair, but injury issues saw him move away from Arsenal and he’s not had much luck since.
Hammers midfielder Declan Rice previously spoke about the talent teammate Wilshere had shown in training.
“One player I want to see back playing is Wilshere. I think he’ll make a difference. The guy is ridiculous in training, the quality he’s got, I just want to see him play injury-free again,” Rice told Sky Sports’ Soccer AM (25 April, 2020).

TBR’s View:
West Ham always knew they were taking a gamble when they signed Wilshere considering his history of injuries, unfortunately for them it’s not paid off and they will try cut their losses this summer.
The left-footed can on his day control the centre of the park with his agility, awareness and quality on the ball, but he’s just not been able to pull a string of games together in previous years to get anywhere near to back his best.
Moyes’ side have enough to cope without him in the midfield, as the dynamic duo of Rice and Tomas Soucek were starting to look a real force at the end of the 2019/20 season.
