West Ham are reportedly monitoring the situation of Arsenal forward Eddie Nketah, as they look to try sign a striker during the January transfer window.
After the sale of Sebastien Haller on Friday to Ajax, the Hammers are on the search for a replacement.
According to the Evening Standard, David Moyes’ side already have a shortlist that includes Bournemouth’s Joshua King and Stade Reims’ Boulaye Dia.
It is explained that West Ham have now turned their attention to London and Premier League rivals Arsenal.
The report states that the Irons are looking at centre-forward Nketah as a target this month, albeit it’s unclear on if his parent club would allow him to leave.
The Evening Standard reports that any kind of sale would be better for Arsenal than a loan, as he’s entering the final 18 months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and they need to raise funds for any transfer business of their own this month.
West Ham are keen to find out if the 21-year-old is available to sign this month, as they desperately need some more attacking firepower to support frontman Michail Antonio.

TBR’s View:
Aged 21, Nketiah still has so much development to do and at times can look a little lost on the pitch for Arsenal.
But the £45,000-a-week star (Spotrac) is a great finisher that is usually clinical around the penalty box and it’s just about getting him in the right positions.
He’s netted five goals in 21 games across all competitions this season and he’d be a different kind of option to Antonio if he joined the West Ham squad.
Nketiah became the record goalscorer for England’s Under-21s last year and his potential is huge, which is why he could be worth the gamble if he’s going to cost anywhere around the £20million that West Ham reportedly have to spend.
