Tottenham and West Ham have been stunned by some news concerning Nikola Milenkovic this afternoon. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that the defender has now signed a new deal with Fiorentina.
The centre-back had been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer. Both Spurs and the Hammers had been linked, with a move to the London Stadium thought to have collapsed.
Tottenham had shown the strongest interest recently. Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to add some new players to his ranks with defenders on his hit list.

Spurs claimed a massive 1-0 win over champions Manchester City on Sunday. The performance highlighted a real togetherness within the group and that bodes well for the season.
Doubts do remain over the club’s defenders though. Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez were both good on Sunday but have struggled with consistency during their time at Tottenham.
Cristian Romero has been added though so all is not lost. West Ham fans will also view this as a blow, with David Moyes yet to bolster his squad this summer.
Now the man who has been with Fiorentina since signing from Partizan Belgrade in 2017 has penned a deal to stay in Serie A. He will remain with Fiorentina until 2023 and a transfer is off the table.
Back to the drawing board for Tottenham and West Ham after Milenkovic blow
Make no bones about it this is bad news for both Tottenham and West Ham. Milenkovic’s future is now sorted and it’s not good for both of the London clubs.
The pair need defensive reinforcements for different reasons. West Ham have a small squad and will embark on a European campaign this season.

For Tottenham, they need to make sure they get back into the big European competitions and another defender would help.
Now it’s back to the drawing board for both of the London-based outfits and it’ll be interesting to see who they pursue in the aftermath of this gobsmacking news regarding the £24,000-a-week Milenkovic.
