West Ham United and Newcastle United have both reportedly tabled offers for Italian defender Daniele Rugani.
According to Calciomercato, the Premier League sides are acting on their interest in the Juventus player by submitting official bids for the 26-year-old.
The publication does not provide specific details of either offer, but it does state that I Bianconeri are considering the proposals.
Rugani is thought not to be in the plans of new manager Andrea Pirlo.
He is currently behind the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Merih Demiral and Matthijs de Ligt in the pecking order.
Rugani has been linked with a move away from Juve for a while now, with Arsenal supposedly having looked at the player this time last year.
He seems unlikely to remain in Turin beyond this window, and it remains to be seen if one of West Ham or Newcastle will be successful with their bid.
TBR’s View – West Ham need Rugani more
West Ham are currently crying out for a new centre-half and will really be hoping they can elbow Newcastle aside.
David Moyes does not have very many options at the back, and needs someone in as quickly as possible.
Perhaps the notion of Rugani’s fellow Italian Angelo Ogbonna being at the club will help the Hammers trump the Magpies.
