Report: West Ham and Everton on alert; 30-year-old could leave club on free
West Ham United, Everton and Newcastle could all offer Aaron Ramsey the chance to return to the Premier League in January, with The Sun reporting that Juventus are ready to let him leave on a free.
What’s the story?
Ramsey could be on his way out of Turin in the coming months. He has struggled to live up to expectations since leaving Arsenal.
He arrived on a free transfer. But he is on an incredibly lucrative contract. It was claimed by BBC Sport that he signed a £400,000-a-week deal when he agreed to join Juve.
Unfortunately, he has not shone for the Old Lady. And he has played 18 minutes in Serie A since the opening day of the campaign.
According to The Sun, Juve will let him leave for nothing in the winter. And that has alerted the likes of West Ham, Everton and Newcastle.
It is noted that his wages are likely to be a problem for his admirers.
Ramsey could be superb signing for West Ham or Everton – if Juventus compromise on the wages
Plenty of fans will have their doubts about Ramsey. And in truth, some will refuse to believe that their club is keen. He seems to have been linked with a Premier League return in almost every window since leaving.
But West Ham and Everton fans know how dangerous it is to write off any additions.
The Hammers produced one of the signings of the season last year by landing Jesse Lingard on loan.
Everton meanwhile, signed Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray in the summer. And those deals are looking superb right now.
If Juventus are willing to compromise, a deal for Ramsey is definitely worth considering.
