West Ham are being linked Manchester United’s Brandon Williams, who is being tipped for a potential loan next season.
Williams, 20, is an academy product at Premier League giants Manchester United who’s been part of the senior squad at Old Trafford for the past couple of years.
But the English defender wants more game time after making just 11 first-team appearances this campaign.
According to the Sun, Championship title winners Norwich City have joined the race to try take Williams on loan next season.
The report states that West Ham and Southampton are also keen on landing his signature.
Williams, who earns £65,000-a-week (Spotrac), is a talented youngster that has shown during his short career so far that he’s got the flexibility to play as either a left-back or right-back.
He’s also renowned for having lightning pace.
If you consider West Ham may have Champions League football next season depending on how strongly they perform in the next few weeks, taking young players on loan to help out other clubs doesn’t sound great.
However, they’ve experienced in recent months just how effective loan deals can be.
Jesse Lingard has been a major driving force for David Moyes’ side since he joined on loan from Man United midway through this campaign.
His success may tempt West Ham to try win the loan race for Williams, who would be strong cover in their squad for the full-back areas.
