West Ham United have reportedly joined the transfer race for talented Algerian international Aissa Mandi.
That is according to a report from El Desmarque, who claim that West Ham have asked about a move for the player in recent months.
He will come at a cut-price transfer fee of just £9 million, as his current deal with Los Verdiblancos expires in 12 months’ time.
Liverpool are also said to have made an offer for the player. As reported by Cadena COPE, the Reds see Mandi as a potentially perfect replacement for Dejan Lovren, who has headed to Russia. The Premier League champions are said to have made a £9 million offer for the player, despite his £27 million release clause.

The interest is nothing new for West Ham.
Back in November last year, West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini was said to be keen on the player with a potential £30 million move being mooted by Le Buteur.
The irony here is that West Ham would now be pulling Mandi away from their former manager, with Pellegrini the current manager at the Seville-based club.
West Ham are clearly in need of improvements across the park and Mandi would be a cost-effective introduction.
Hopefully, they can snap him away from Pellegrini’s clutches this summer.
