West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace in the final stages of the transfer window, according to a report from The Sun on Sunday (4/10; page 59).
The Baggies have endured a tough start following their return to the Premier League. Slaven Bilic’s side have taken one point from their opening three games.

They appear to have done some shrewd business in the summer however. And it looks as though they are hoping to strengthen further before the initial deadline passes.
The Sun on Sunday (4/10; page 59) reports that they are keen on signing Townsend from Palace. And it is noted that they are willing to pay £6 million for the 29-year-old.

The report adds that the Eagles are reluctant to let Townsend leave without landing a replacement.
TBR View: Townsend would be a superb signing for £6m, but surely Palace will want more
Townsend – who earns £55,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has started the season with one goal and two assists. He has also started all four of Roy Hodgson’s side’s games this term.
So it is incredibly difficult to imagine Palace accepting anything like £6 million for him.
He would arguably be a fantastic signing for the Baggies if they could do a deal for anything around that figure.
But you could understand if the West Brom fans were not holding their breath at this stage.
