West Bromwich Albion will receive a fee of around £3 million when Ahmed Hegazi’s loan move is converted into a permanent exit from the Baggies in the summer, according to a report from the Express and Star.
Hegazi sealed a surprise move away this week. The 29-year-old has joined Al-Ittihad on loan for the rest of the season.

The report claims that the deal will become permanent at the end of the campaign. And that will see West Brom net around £3 million.
The Express and Star also suggests that the Baggies are set to save around £7.2 million in wages. Hegazi had two years left on his £70,000-a-week contract at the Hawthorns before his move.

As noted by the Express and Star, Slaven Bilic had wanted to keep Hegazi. The defender had featured in their goalless draw with Burnley this month.
They do appear to have the depth to cope without the Egypt international. But that situation could become slightly more precarious if they have to cope with a couple of injuries over the coming months.
The decision to sell Hegazi will arguably be vindicated if West Brom can use the funds to strengthen in January.
But the fans would be forgiven for having concerns. It is still not going to be easy to improve the squad if Bilic’s January budget only consists of the £10.2 million that they will ultimately net from Hegazi’s departure.
